One of my favorite places of all time. Loaf and Ladle in Exeter! Yum! Double Yum! This place as homemade soup every day. Even in the summer it’s a great stop. I am seriously in love with this place, and if you aren’t after you try their soup, then I don’t know what else to tell you.
Right now you can get $20 worth of Loaf and Ladle food for only $10. Half off! Half off! Just click here.
Located at 189 State Street in Downtown Portsmouth, check out this stop dishing out French, Asian, Italian and contemporary American cuisine at the hands of Chef Simon Lampert.
Looking for a good meal but don’t have the big bucks? There’s a deal going right now that lets you have dining for two for $40 (regularly $80). It’s a tasting menu, which can change, but has recently featured items like olive oil-poached tuna with spicy mustard, chicken-fried steak with three bean salad and mushroom gravy. Top that off with a steamed chocolate cake. Grab the deal here.
Taste of the Seacoast has a load of 1/2 coupons going on right now for many of the area restaurants. If you’re planning on dining downtown, check it out, take a minute to decide where you want to eat and get the gift card. Could save you a few bucks, and who can say no to that? Click here <—— to see the deals, some include:
Surf, 99 Bow St., Portsmouth
Rudi’s, 20 High St., Portsmouth
Zahtar, 148 Fleet St., Portsmouth
The Upper Crust, 41 Congress St., Portsmouth
The Page, 172 Hanover St., Portsmouth
Four, 189 State St., Portsmouth
Harbor’s Edge, 250 Market St., Portsmouth (Inside the Sheraton Hotel)
Now you must read the fine print. some of them have restrictions on them, including requiring you to at least spend a certain amount, which is usually higher than the coupon. Make sure it’s worth it before you buy it. For example, The Page requires you spend at least $40 to use the gift card and you can only use one which values up to $25. So unless you were already planning on spending at least $40, you have to ask if it’s worth it to get it.
Also, don’t forget that Limelight Deals is still working its Rudi’s deal, which honestly, I think is better than the Taste deal. It doesn’t require you to spend a certain amount like the Taste deal and you’re probably going to spend $30 anyway. Click here to check it out. But it’s going fast, grab it while it’s still here.

Get it while it’s hot. Limelight Deals is offering $30 worth of Rudi’s food for $15. Click here to get the deal.
It’s tucked away on the back side of the Hanover-High Street Parking Garage, just across from Starbucks and around the corner from Federal Cigar. It’s off of Market Square, seriously, if you can’t find it with all this name dropping of area places, I don’t know if you ever will. Once inside, the place looks kinda swanky, not gonna lie, and the prices… well, you’ll want the gift card deal, and I suggest you go at lunch time. If they have it, I suggest getting the butternut squash bisque/soup, but it’s not always there. Pretty much everything is good, and you can totally impress your date by going there.
And if you must park, try getting into their free parking lot and save yourself some money from the meters.
460 Islington Street
I’m in love with the sandwiches here. The place can actually get pretty busy at lunch time. When you walk in, there are a few tables, two high tops, one in each window. Head straight to the counter, there’s usually some sort of special soup or something of the day. The menu is right up on the board, don’t know what you’re in the mood for? Well, there are plenty of choices. Pizza, calzones, sandwiches, subs, wings. They have a lot of food options.
I usually get drawn toward the subs. The Chicken Chipotle (Grilled chicken, chipotle mayo, Swiss cheese, sautéed onions & peppers) knocks my socks off with its gooey cheese melted over grilled chicken.. And the crunchy sub roll it’s placed upon gives it a bite, albeit messy. Also recommending the Chicken Ranchero (Grilled chicken, ham, bacon, Swiss cheese, ranch dressing, lettuce & tomato). It’s great. Comes in 8-inch, 12-inch, and 18-inch. Grab the small and you will walk out of there spending less than $7.
